STUDENTS AS EXPLORERS

“As a mom, I want my kid to experience the most out of his life. I want him to be anything that he can be. If Explorer At Large helps him to become that scientist or to become an explorer, then it’s giving him more options to do something he really loves.”

- B. Boone, Parent of XAL Student

Humans are born naturally curious. Humans are so curious as babies, in fact, that adults need to protect us from touching, tasting, climbing, etc. the wrong thing and possibly injuring ourselves. But the truth is that our curiosity about the world -- and our courage to crawl, walk, and run through it - is a huge part of how we learn. Immersive, first-hand experience

Once students have observed exploration, it's time for the next step... XAL Activities.
